Pop des Fleurs was selected to participate as a demonstrator at Pittsburgh’s first full scale Maker Faire. Held on the grounds of the Children’s Museum, there were over 200 creatives showing off their ideas and creations!
Our booth was staffed by Fiberarts Guild members Jamie Herron, Michelle Jones, Katrina Harrison-Shorter, MJ Shaw and Susan Swarthout. We had a ball, not only spreading the word about Pop des Fleurs but having Faire attendees make puff flowers to be included in our main installation in February. Take a look at all the happy faces, who not only had fun making the flowers but were proud when they learned that their creations would be part of the installation. They also went home knowing how to make more flowers to hang on their own doors and fences.
And speaking of fences, the fence behind our booth was the perfect place to display all the flowers that were constructed over the two days. We filled it almost completely with over 40 flowers.
