Who We Are
Pop des Fleurs is a public art installation of colorful wintertime flower bouquets and gardens made with fiber materials and techniques.
Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh selected Pop des Fleurs as the community outreach component of Fiberart International 2016. Its creation will create color and bring delight during the dark season of February and March through handmade, pop-up flower bouquets and gardens. It will also raise awareness for the internationally renown exhibit of contemporary fiber art happening here in Pittsburgh in May 2016.
The community, with the help of the Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh, will create Pop des Fleurs installations in numerous locations —outside homes, libraries and other public locations. Materials used are all kinds of weather resistant fibers, fabrics, and framing materials. When possible re-purposed materials such as colorful plastic bags, acrylic yarn reused or left over from previous projects and wire coat hangers will be used.
We invite individuals or groups to join with us to bring color to Pittsburgh’s winter.
